Step 1 |
Choosing which songs will suit each age group.
This is entirely up to the discretion of the teacher/s – No one knows your
students like you do. |
|
Step 2 |
Make a
realistic time frame for the students to learn the songs. eg. Between 3-6
weeks. |
|
Step 3 |
Workshop the songs with each group.
a) Are the students happy with all the melodies as per the example? Would
they prefer to change some or any of the melodies.
b)
Are they happy with the Lyrics? Would
they like to add their own special touch by using some of their own ideas? |
|
Step 4 |
There are harmonies on the Vocal CD. It is entirely up to
the individual teacher/s to experiment and have fun with harmonies. The
Sky’s the Limit. Also a good opportunity for those who are good soloists to
step up and take a few lead parts if appropriate. |
|
Step 5 |
For the artistic at heart, you can run a competition for
the CD artwork for the front cover. It will need to be correct shape of the
CD cover and as a suggestion, to have the name of the school on it. The
winning entry gets to have their artwork chosen for the school Fund Raising
CD. |
|
Step 6 |
On completion of learning the songs, a sound recording
engineer will come to the school to record the students singing along to the
backing tracks. Hopefully the school will have a reasonable quiet room for
this task to achieve the best results. |
|
Step 7 |
It is a good idea to get the ball rolling early with the
parents, family and friends to get orders for the CD’s coming in to enable
this project to work without incurring cost to the school or myself.
Production costs are very expensive for small amounts and so it is crucial
that we have as many (and preferably over 100) orders as possible to get
better rates for duplication. Once the orders have been placed however, that
will be the definitive amount pressed so lots of promotion within the school
is suggested. |
|
Step 8 |
Go back to
Step 1. and Don’t forget to have FUN. |
