Professional musician and music producer, John Bennetts is offering customised “Corporate Performance” workshops designed to bring out the star qualities of participants during a professional CD recording session. John has over twenty years experience producing commercial success with a team. A former member of Australian band the Eurogliders who dominated the charts in the 80’s with ten top 10 hits and a number one single, John takes corporate teams through a challenging journey of developing and recording their own music.

Creating music together is a fun and highly beneficial team building activity. “During my 25 years in the music industry, I have experienced time and time again, the power of music as a catalyst for inspiration, motivation and bringing people together. 

Life in the studio and on the road with a band can be highly stressful. Combine this with personality clashes and it is not uncommon for disagreements and rifts to break out within bands. However, the power of music and performing ultimately keeps them together.”

Music is a universal language – it inspires, moves, motivates and breaks down barriers.  Corporate Idol will have your team literally working in harmony as they record their very own CD single.

The choice of activities include:

·         Team Song (approximately two hours): A recording session during which participants record a selection of their favourite pop songs including a pre-production meeting, a rehearsal and recording session, followed by a photo shoot during which their photographs are taken for the album cover.

·         Corporate Idol (approximately three/four hours): A writing/recording/design workshop during which participants are divided into teams then collaborate on song lyrics (which if desired may incorporate the company principles) before recording their original version of the song. 

The teams then perform in front of the opposing team/s to the song they have recorded. They can sing, dance, mime, play air guitar, or act out characters in the song. The watching team/s judge the best performance from each team player. The finalists then perform a song together to determine who will be the next Corporate Idol.

This session also includes a photo shoot for the front and inside cover of the album. The team’s artistic skills are then put to work designing a back cover for the album

Corporate Idol can be tailored to suit each company’s needs, the group’s talents, the number of people in the group, budget and time limitations. 

Having recorded the “grand performance” John then returns to his studio to perform some post-production magic, with each team member receiving their own professionally produced CD of the recording session featuring their photos on the CD cover, the following day
